Okay as of yesterday~still using Sara's comp joy~ I have a new buddy. Its a shocker, she's my baby(as you can guess its an animal) I've been saving for YEARS with my grandmother, but sadly she passed away so she couldn't see what we'd been working on come true. So with my money that I saved with her, I introduce my new best friend who I will explain more about.
In basics, I now am the owner of "Chetinell Golden Brigade" (the Chetinell I will have to check spelling on) aka Goldie- a 3 1/2 year old Palamino Morgan. She's nicknamed 'Barbie' xD an she loves to show off.
NOSE!
She's very curious of the camara,

My dad loves this pic because she was walking up to me in this pic, hence its blurry where my hand and her nose is.

This is my fav.
Even though I didn't realize my dad took the picture until a second to late.
an here's her being all pretty.

We were amazed at her price, I won't say what it is so dun ask tis personal ;) since she was vigoriously trained she basically shocked the trainers that she knew what took most horses 3 years to learn to give ya an idea. She's also won 3 shows she was entered in, brought home blue. Reason she's cheap as she was the woman her breeder just wanted her to have a friend not someone who would just show 'em. So I met her today an she was happy I'll have her show, but first and formost she's my horse. Vet came today an basically said "She doesn't even have a tick bite." She's clean uttertly and completely, and she's still in Morgan standards somewhat of a baby.
I have video of her showing off too but gotta DL it to my comp if anyones curious to see it. So all today I was working at the stables, I'm also helping them prep for a show on the 15th in which I'm going too-not to ride but to assist in grooming etc. Though Goldie WILL be showed, just ridden by Jenny one of my two trainers ;) Jsut thought I'd share what brought me to tears, I didn't think I'd get her, since so many people were interested but I did. An already she's my best buddy if abit of a young doofus now an then.
I just wish my grandma could have at least seen her, that sorta makes this abit of a bitter sweet thing. But I couldn't be happier as I've also been drawn into the 'circle' of girls at the stables. Heck they were asking if I wanted to help them do this that etc. An two offered me to share a hotel room with them for the Ventura show I'm going to go to with 'em all.
For once in my life I have this weird feeling of just belonging.

She's beautiful! :D And "WELCOME!" to the horsey girl world :) I know most of girls at stables are really nice and you can ask them anything :D Of course there are the "black sheep" ones but.. mostly nice people! :)
I'm always a bit shocked to hear that Americans train their horses so young.. and show them young too. In Finland young horses get a human to their back for the first time at the age of 3 or 4. Of course there has been ground training before that, getting used to bit, bridle & saddle + weight in saddle etc..
ok.. me go sleeping for a bit, before my riding lesson starts :D I got "jumps on bent tracks" ;)

Date: 2006-07-08 01:02 pm (UTC)Heh, I didn't know you were into horses since you never write about horsey stuff to your journal :D
You live next to Santa Anita? ~glees~ "Seabiscuit" is one of the best horse movies I have ever seen ;) What a great horse he was..
And my riding lesson went.. just.. crap.. :P It was just because I had to take a painkiller before the lesson is my leg were so damn sore and hurt all over.. :P So I was pretty numb up there in the saddle :/
