We have a new family member lalalalala.(no my new nephew hasn't popped out yet-thank god) Nope dad decided to help his moods an for him to help outta his depression he'd get a friend.~nodnod~ KDS officially has a show dog ;P

His name is "Knights Magical Merlin" he's a dark blue merle dachsaund. VERY sweet :)

Later I'll post pics of Merlin in all his illegally cuteness.

Now we just have to finish filling out the United Show paperwork/registration and his chip registration then maybe see if AKC will accept his pedigree(he is full dachsaund according to the records we were given)

He be waaay to cute. Seriously. We got him yesterday.

I also got a new comp chair(old one was broken C.c) drove today, cleaned both sides of the backyard, er....some bits of my room. AND my little art project for myself is goin smooooth :)

AKC will not register him, as his pedigree isnt through the AKC.

Show dog? What are you smoking? Purebred, yes...confirmation quality? Err...no. Not likely, but pretty merle none the less.

I know how the AKC works. You cant register a dog with the AKC unless the dog has a pedigree history already established with the AKC. And if you want to show Merlin...dude...good luck. People spend 30 years breeding dog after dog to get one that can show. Its not easy. Its not just taking two random dogs, breeding them and they are instantly show quality. Its must more invovled - such as breeding to Breed standard which is next to impossible once you consider how many show quality dogs that are out there compared to the ones sold as pets because they did not match up to their Breed standard. If you want advise on if Merlin is confirmation quality, you need to go to a breeder who Shows, and ask their opinion on Merlin (they will check him over). Remember, April...I grew up doing this stuff. I also could take a look at Merlin as well, as the dachshund breed standard is similar to the Pem Corgi, plus I know what to look for...I grew up doing this stuff when I was little (and still wish I was doing it, cause you can make a MINT becoming a Pro-Handler!! But its a shitload of work)

AKC is anal. REALLY anal. And down right mean people, so you can try and register him with the AKC, but they will turn you down - why? They do not recognize UBA, or whatever kennel club Merlin is registered through. They recognize major Kennel Clubs such as Canadian Kennel Club, Mexican Kennel club (I forgot the name, but I am sure its not the MKC), UKC, FDI and so on. UBA isnt one of those...but best call and ask.

I am not trying to be mean or anything, just stating the facts, so you can be prepared for what might happen. But yey.

AKC is the most political Kennel, and one of the best ran, out there. Although they aren't perfect (regulating the breed standard of some breeds: ie. Golden retriever, Pembroke Welsh corgis, and ESPECIALLY the German Shepherd).

You could always train him for obedience classes or since he's considered an earth dog, train him for that sort of thing.
